Regarding the black.

Jamie is not a fan of the black thermals above the waistline, I am. We need a tie-breaker.

think pink

Naomi knows how to rock the pink. This is a little "going out to breakfast with Dad" ensemble she threw together. It's hard to tell in the photo, but she's holding a butterfly wand she made herself. Yes, that went to breakfast too.

Cruella Deville and "Spot" the dalmatian puppy

Here's Waldo

Halloween!

You've found him.
Are these my normal clothes? Maybe. But the accessories really make the outfit. I picked these up at DI to complete my last minute costume. Limitations: yes, the eyeglasses should be round. yes, the sweater should be red and white. Still, no one made any negative comments, it was a worthy attempt. I'm a little surprised no one else has posted their halloween creations, I'd be interested to see them...

Fashionably, I'm about to ROCK YOUR WORLD.

It is time for the glasses' big debut. Well worth the wait, no?
Also, I just wanted to mention that that shirt I'm wearing? Oh it's a scarf, held together with spit and prayers.

Harrisons Hunt in Packs

I love visiting Utah, the fun, the family, Deseret Industries. Jamie found this jacket for me, recycled wool, whatever that means. Meh, it looks good so whatever. I had seen these shoes, but it was brother bear Lance that convinced me that they were cool. Two wearings, two compliments. Thanks again brother. I love this family. The beard was just-for-mened for Chuck Norris by this time as well.

Make the Call.

This is such a sweet jacket (thanks again Dad), and the picture is pretty cool too. I just really like this outfit, and the beard fits, right? By the way, my friend Chad took this picture he labeled it "Hacksaw making the call."

Can you say Awesome?

Brooke tricked me and told me this ring was purchased before she could get to it. I was sick about it! luckily, she's as nice as she is tricky, and it is now my very own. It seems to match everything!!

happy birthday Nicole!

Today is Nikki's birthday, and as she has dedicated a birthday post to every other sibling, she deserves her own.
First of all, the fashionably part of the post. A five old Nicole is wearing a raggedy ann dress made by my mom. Its hard to tell from the photo, but the dress is tiered, and Nikki loved it so much that Mom made a matching one for her doll.
Now, the birthday post part. Nikki is the first child in our family, our oldest sister. She is perhaps the best sibling to be the oldest because she is brave and creative and not afraid to try things no one else has. She up and moved to the distant Chicago for art school after college, she was not just the first snowboarder in our family, but one of the first ever girl snowboarders, and she started the Harrison migration trend to Portland. She lives there now with Craig and Naomi, in a yellow house, and she is a graphic designer for Bullseye glass. She is also getting her masters degree, a technology focused MBA. If that isn't enough to prove her awesomeness, she rides an xtracycle and has impeccable, yet original, taste in clothes, food and music.
I love Nicole because she introduced me to a little thing called a fixie, and she makes me believe I can do anything I want to. When I grow up I want to be just like her. happy birthday Nikki!

Portland State, here she comes!

First day of school at PSU. My little cookie is all grown up!!!

Inspired by Leanimal.

Well, I've done it! I created this jacket from scratch with no real pattern, and then I WORE it! (since you have to wear the things that get posted here.) I wore it to a little show, the fossil fools, at a pizza place, and I actually got some compliments on it from people whose fashion I admire. I am pretty proud ( pretty and proud) This is made out of thick jersey, and it was inspired by Leanne, season 5 of Project Runway. I had a little bit of a rough time with sewing the button hole, but, as I sewed it very inconspicuously, it is no matter. The button and hole are hidden and cannot be seen whether the jacket is open or closed. Thanks mom for the over-the-phone help!

O Canada!

Jamal got this for me on her mission (thanks sister), I recently fell in love with it all over again. My roommate Shaun said it captures my personality perfectly, which I guess is a compliment. Plus, it makes my eyes "pop". The only thing is, it has style and class, so it must have been made in America. That's right, I went there again.
By the way, it is beard season and they are always in style.

mad hatter

okay, i'll admit it. my first post in ages, fashionably sister Harrison? (see below) made me miss blogging, and so, maybe twenty minutes later, i'm finally back. this post is a reminder that you can be fashionable doing any activity. and the best activity, as everyone knows, is biking. preferably with some sort of fixed hub, but any old hub will do. now, to the photos!

you're probably saying, cool renée, what an awesome looking hat. but i know your thinking, what is she wearing. hold your horses, because i sewed this hat! i know, totally reversible, brim and all.

Don't worry nikki, i bought a helmet too. and i wear it.

Fashionably sister Harrison?

you thought it was impossible, i thought it was impossible. but somehow, possible is the only thing that these clothes spell out.

so look out mtc, because harrisons have a hard time controlling their sexy. thats one way to encourage conversion.

and yes, that is an Indonesian Book of Mormon.

Fashion Forward Portlanders!

I always learn what the new trends are when I visit Jamie. I will admit, I was a little surprised by this latest fashion. But she does make it look good...

She's even got Brooke wearing it!

Even though I'm a little more hesitant in the fashion department, that is one that Harrison can easily pull off!!

Thanks for such a fun trip Portlanders!!

Kicks and Cuts

I got these new kicks for only 30 bones, they are a little sleeker than most of mine and I should be able to wear them with shorts, which is the other reason I got them. I also love the color, they almost exactly match one of my nylon belts from Gen X too, priceless.

The other point of this point (there are actually two more points) is first, to show off some of my hemming skills, Renee, the machine is working great, thanks again for the loaner. Secondly, I am trying out a new style I like to call "Lance Style". See, Lance is so skinny, even the skinniest jeans are not tight on him, but I like it, see. So these are like borderline, they actually touch my leg on the calf, but they have a little wrinkle, just the way Lancer likes 'em, and me too. Anyway, more sewing stuff to follow eventually.

On The Road Again

Since you're never really dressed without a smile...I figured this picture should be on Fashionably. If you could see dad's face, he has never been so dressed. We succumbed to a Legacy (about the same color as Renee's) through the urgings of Jamie and said Renee'. With 4 in the fam now, we are definitely stylin'. yes? no?

Festive Fashion

Not a single post in June??? Is our family becoming less fashionable (impossible) or just lazy (probable).

I'd like to start putting this blog to good use, I need a fashionable baby!!

Here is Harrison in his 4th of July outfit, complete with stars and stripes and American flag bib.

Before you chime in on how over the top it is, let me give you a few key pieces of information. Then I'll submit to your judgments.

  • He is very patriotic, look how happy he is wearing it!
  • We did not purchase this outfit, it was a gift. (However, I do have to take the responsibility for gleefully dressing him in it.)
  • Mom gave him those shorts, so don't say anything bad about those.
  • Finally (and worth the most points) we opted out of dressing him in the coordinating pants (see below.) Who designs baby clothes? Writing on the bum?? Really??

I'd love to get everyone's thoughts on using your baby as a prop for the holidays.

Saver's my life they do.

All I care about when I go on vacation is eating out and going shopping. That being said, I had a good trip in Utah. I got theses pants and the shirt at Saver's. Blue belt at Gen X. The shoes I picked up at Nordstrom Rack. I now officially have two pairs of shoes that have brown corduroy on them, make of that what you will.

Courtroom ready?

Sad to say, I wore this to my interview that morning. I got the job, so I guess it worked. I also had on a sweater vest that hid the belt and the hat I put on later, so it was a little better. This is a classic example of my "Classy yet Trashy" philosophy. I think that this outfit is really cool, I just wish you would have accepted my collect call, I was stuck at that rest area for four hours. JK.

It's time to take this to the next level with a fashionably Harrison interior by Kendra. Notice the pillow, snap! The only thing this party needs now is a little light banter about torts and tax law. Nice.

On a side note, I'm really wishing for either a leather jacket like Matt's or a Members Only windbreaker right about now. And Tracy's zip-up makes me want to weep; mine is somewhere south of the border making some sassy Mexican look good. Sigh.

Suit yourself, but I like 'em!

The top one is not the best picture, a little rumpled, but I think that black shirt really killed with the gray suit, this was for a school party. The bottom one is to show Mom's and my prowess at the sewing arts. The art is from her, the rest is me. We slimmed these suckas down and I think they turned out radical. The vest came in too, but that will have to wait for another post . . .
